SAMSUNG TO RELEASE GALAXY A3 AND GALAXY A5 IN BANGLADESH

A5

Samsung Mobile Bangladesh announced that the Korean giant’s two latest smartphones are heading to Bangladeshi market soon. Phones from Samsung Galaxy A series will see widespread release through a “30 Year Celebration Concert” of popular musical band Warfaze on 30th January in the capital.

Samsung Galaxy A3
With a metallic body, which both Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5 have, the A3 has a 4.5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution. It has a Snapdragon 410 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (Cortex-A53) and Adreno 306 as graphics processor, coupled with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB storage.

The phone runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat and there is no words yet on whether it will see the flavor of Lollipop. For photography addicts, it has an 8 MP camera on the back with autofocus and LED flash. Good news for selfie freaks, though; it has a 5 MP camera on the front. So your selfies may have higher resolution than most of your friends.

Samsung Galaxy A3 has GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Accelerometer, proximity, compass and the usual tidbits that a mid-range smartphone should have. It has a non-removable 1900mAh battery. The LTE model of the phone has an NFC radio, but it’s a safe guess that the LTE model won’t be heading to Bangladesh anytime soon.

The phone takes a single Nano-SIM in its SIM slot, but there is a dual-SIM ‘Duos’ variant of the phone that takes two Nano SIM cards and has similar specification to the single-SIM model.

Samsung Galaxy A5
Similar to Samsung Galaxy A3, the Galaxy A5 also have a dual-SIM ‘Duos’ brother which takes two Nano SIM cards and have nearly identical specification to the Galaxy A5 single-SIM variant. Since we aren’t sure which model Samsung Mobile Bangladesh will start selling starting 30th of this month, we’re going to show the specifications of Galaxy A5.

Samsung Galaxy A5 has a 5-inch 720p HD display with same 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 306 GPU under the hood. With 16 GB internal storage and 2 GB RAM, the phone packs an impressive 13 MP camera on the back but keeps the same 5 MP camera on the front from the A3. It also comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box and misses any confirmation whether Lollipop will bless it anytime soon.

The only other change that you will notice in A5 when compared to A3 is the non-removable battery capacity. While Galaxy A3 has 1900mAh battery, A5 has a slightly bigger 2300 mAh battery which should give slightly more battery backup.

SYMPHONY LAUNCHES SYMPHONY XPLORER H20

xplorer h20

Symphony Mobile in Bangladesh listed its new phone Symphony Xplorer H20 as upcoming last month. But the company has recently announced the pricing of this new phone as it goes on sale.

The new phone from Symphony has a 5-inch IPS display with 720p HD resolution. It packs quad-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek processor with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. It’s a dual-SIM smartphone and supports microSD memory card up to 32 GB for expanded memory. For graphics processing, the device has Mali-400 GPU.

Symphony Xplorer H20 has a 5 MP autofocus camera on the back and 2 MP camera on the front. The phone supports 3G network and has WiFi, GPS with Assisted-GPS, Bluetooth and the usual tidbits of a budget smartphone. It has Accelerometer, Proximity, Light and G-Sensor.
While Symphony Xplorer H20 comes with Android KitKat, you can’t be sure whether it will receive update to Android Lollipop. If Lollipop is something you absolutely want, then Symphony Roar A50 may be something you want to look at which costs about the same.

When Google announced Android One initiative in its annual I/O conference, the world went crazy. Okay, perhaps not so much, but the people who are interested in low-to-mid range smartphones couldn’t have been happier. Knowing that Google was finally going to do something about low-end Android phones being left out of new Android flavors was a sigh of relief for many.
Fast forward six months to the present, we have a handful of Android One smartphones in the market. Micromax and some other Indian homegrown manufacturers were the first ones to bring Android One smartphone in the market. Micromax was also the first company to make its Android One smartphone, Micromax Canvas A1, available in Bangladesh.
There will be updates!
However, because Symphony is more prominent and popular in Bangladesh, its Android One smartphone, Symphony Roar A50, received much more public attention and media coverage. Why should it not? It was featured on Google’s official blog followed by the international press. It was the first time Symphony Mobile from Bangladesh got international media coverage.
Anyway, one of the best things about Android One smartphones is that they will receive regular Android version updates directly from Google. What that means is, users will no longer have to look up to the mercy of their career or manufacturer for latest updates; or kick their phone out of warranty and install a custom ROM. If you’ve got an Android One phone, you will receive updates. But exactly how long will Google keep pushing out updates to Android Onesmartphones?
The answer is: Two years.
According to Google, and various other sources on the web, Android One phones will receive two years of Android update since the date of their release/customer purchase (there’s a confusion in this). With that said, it’s important to remind that it has been a while since Android 5.0 Lollipop has hit the Nexus devices. Even some Motorola devices including Moto G has received an updated version of Lollipop (5.0.2 to be precise). But Android One smartphones that were launched in India back in September are yet to receive a Lollipop update.
There is still debate over how long Android One phones will truly receive updates. Many people thought that Android One phones will receive updates as fast asNexus devices, a theory that has been proven wrong already. But the fact that Google at least promised updates to low-end Android phones is something worth celebrating for
